Project: Play With Your Cat
How do people and cats play together? From the comfort of your home, show us how you and your cat play together!
PARTICIPATE IN 3 EASY STEPS
The entire study takes place on the ‘Participate here’ page and may take 15-30 minutes:
- Part 1 — Read and complete the consent form
- Part 2 — Submit a short video of you and your cat playing
- Part 3 — Complete a short questionnaire about your cat and your cat’s household
ABOUT THE PARTICIPANTS
Who can participate?
- Cat owners who are 18 or older and who consent to participate
- Cat owners who play with their cat
Do you live with more than one cat? Please follow these instructions:
- Only play with one cat in the video
- Complete the questionnaire about the cat in the video
- Only one cat should appear in the video
- Only submit one entry per household, i.e., if you play with more than one cat in your household, please select one cat to play with for this study
HOW TO MAKE A VIDEO OF YOU AND YOUR CAT PLAYING
Your video should meet these criteria:
- The recording device should be directed toward you and your cat as much as possible
- The video should be anywhere between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long
- Only the consenting cat owner should be captured in the video; no other people should appear in the video
How to make a suitable video of you and your cat playing:
- You and your cat should both be in the video as much as possible
- Use a recording device, such as a mobile phone, computer, or video camera
- Set up the recording device to face the play area:
- You could affix the video-recording device to a tripod facing the play area
- You could face a computer toward the play area
- You could have someone else record you and your cat playing
VIDEO SUBMISSION OPTIONS
On the ‘Participate here’ page you will submit your video using one of the following options:
- Option A: Submit your video via the Files.fm upload box, or
- Option B: Submit your video to a personal Dropbox account and share the link
